Tamika visits Victory House
Globe’s Tamika recently took a trip to Victory House, Leicester Square to see what this brand new opening in the heart of the West End had to offer.
Here’s what she thought of this central London hotel…
Victory House – In the heart of London located in the iconic Leicester Square this Hotel has been renovated to a high spec, boasting a contemporary look and feel. The staff are casually dressed, maybe trying to bring the East of London to the West end.
The hotel has a strong French influence which is evident when you enter Le Petit Bistro, serving classic French dishes in a relaxed, casual setting (all that’s missing is the stripy t shirt and French beret!)
There’s a constant reminder that you’re in “theatre land” – the artwork adorning the Hotel’s hallway walls paying homage to the stage. In addition to its ease of access for theatres, shopperholics will love its Leicester Square location as you’re just a stone’s throw away from a wide variety of popular shopping brands and the bustling Covent Garden market.
While the hotel itself doesn’t have any meeting or event space in house, for groups and corporate events the central location means that you have a vast swathe of London – and it’s multitude of venues, activities, meeting space, and much more – on your doorstep.
While well laid out and beautifully kept, the classic room’s sizes are fairly limited, so I think any more than 2-3 nights may start to feel a little claustrophobic, but it’s a great option for a short stay in the heart of London. There is a range of rooms sizes available including superior, deluxe and executive, with the latter providing views over Leicester Square itself. The hotel houses 86 rooms in total.
Go on try it, you won’t regret it!
