The Brief

Globe Events recently planned a team building weekend for private aircraft management company ExecuJet who travelled to Budapest for a weekend in March.

What we did

Employees travelled from a number of destinations around Europe to meet at the Sofitel Chain Bridge. Mixing business with pleasure the group enjoyed three nights at the five-star hotel with an action packed itinerary:

The group arrived into Budapest throughout the day, making their way to the Sofitel Chain Bridge to freshen up before welcome drinks and a departure for an afternoon “Escape Room” activity. Upon entering their “Amazon” and “Medieval” themed rooms each team were set tasks and clues to solve within 60 minutes – otherwise their time is up and they are trapped. Thankfully, the teams clearly did well as they were rewarded with dinner at Rezkakas Bistro, an award winning restaurant located in the 5th district.

After a restful evening and hearty breakfast, the group got down to business within one of the hotels meeting spaces before blowing away the cobwebs with an exhilarating and knowledgeable guided Segway tour of the City. Reservations were made this evening at Robinson Restaurant, a popular location for tourists and locals alike.

The third day in Budapest saw the group mixing business with pleasure once more as morning meetings were followed by a trip to a secret location for a “Godfather” shooting session. Pistols, AK-47 and submachines were on the menu as a qualified instructor guided the group through the plethora of “boys toys”.

After the last shot was fired the group were whisked off to a more relaxed affair of wine tasting in a private room at Taste Hungary, with expert Sommelier, Tamas. The group were led through the essentials of Hungarian wine, including the history, the major regions, the significant varietals, unique characteristics and styles, and promising trends – and of course the all-important tasting of the wine!

The trip culminated in an evening at the world famous “Buddha Bar restaurant”, an Asian infused restaurant with elegant interiors mixing flavours of Japan, Thailand, China and India. The restaurant is located within the five star Buddha-Bar Hotel; to which a visit is well recommended.

SUMMARY

I wanted to say thank you for all your assistance with organising our team building weekend in Budapest. All the suppliers we had were sincerely brilliant! The entire weekend was very smoothly organised and the entire team had a really great time.

The Segway tour guide Tamas should receive a big thank you for his superb tour of the city. He looked after us very well and he was great fun. The wine sommelier Thomas was very knowledgable and a great host! Both activities were awesome.

I would certainly recommend yourself and Globe to my colleagues and business partners.”
